Order Detailer

Fleming, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for an Order Detailer to join our team. This position will be onsite based out of our Woodbridge, Ontario Canada manufacturing facility and will report directly to the Order Processing Manager.

What would you do as our Order Detailer?
You’ll lead the production planning process, ensuring customer requirements are met while optimizing manufacturing and material flow. You’ll manage a team of Planners, collaborate across departments, and implement tools and processes that drive accountability, efficiency, and performance.
You would also:
- Create technical manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD-based systems, hardware manufacturer templates, and engineering guidelines.
- Accurately determine all custom product components and bill of materials needed for shop drawings.
- Define and maintain hardware preparation requirements and support document management and ERP systems.
- Interpret hardware templates and customer specs, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing processes and tolerances.
- Partner with internal teams and customers to proactively resolve issues, provide guidance, and ensure production accuracy.
- Maintain and update shared drawing/template databases and help manage layout creation for manufacturing.
- Assist with technical support, continuous improvement initiatives, and training as needed.
- Contribute to a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment in line with AADG policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- Post-secondary degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Architectural Technology, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of drafting/detailing experience in a manufacturing or architectural environment
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Proficiency in geometry, trigonometry, and algebra
- Experience interpreting architectural hardware, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Background in order processing or working with templates and BOM creation preferred
- Excellent analytical ability, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with customers
- Organized, with sequential thinking and visualization skills
- Familiarity with MS Office, document management systems, and manufacturing ERP platforms preferred
