Business Development Specialist
Business Development Specialist, Warehousing/ Logistics/Entertainment
The primary function of the Business Development Specialist is to create long-term value through building mutually beneficial relationships influencing loyalty within the Warehousing/ Logistics and Entertainment verticals. This position will be field-based and cover the United States. The Business Development Specialist will engage decision-makers in the industry through meetings with owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors and distributors. They will also attend conferences, tradeshows, events, social media, and other means necessary to develop brand awareness, market expansion and to meet and exceed sales and revenue targets.
What you will be doing:
- Adhere to the organizational mission, vision, and values statement
- Conduct research via all available methods to gain knowledge and direction for the market
- Add and update key accounts and partners data & profile information within CRM (STAR)
- Use CRM (STAR) to log each interaction with all contacts and understand all past, present, and future vertical projects
- Develop a business plan and outline goals annually
- Work with marketing department to develop and implement vertical market specific collateral as well as event planning to include dinners, sponsorships, and other requests as necessary
- Collaborate and communicate with the sales team to develop and maintain key account and partner relationships
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and creative problem solving skills
- Write case studies, white papers, and editorial on vertical-related content as requested
Attend industry related tradeshows and conferences as well as partnership summits and open houses, and interact with executive level decision makers
The skills and experience you need:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred or relevant industry experience
Experience:
- Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with CRM software
- Proven customer development skills with C-Suite experience preferred
- Strong and previously demonstrated presentation skills
- 2+ years of successful PSS outside sales experience or other industry related successful outside sales experience and proven results to achieve / exceed targets
- Experience selling in a matrix organization and navigating through the executive levels of large multi-level customers
- Knowledge of working with architects, engineers, owners, developers and general contractors to secure specifications.
- Network of strong contacts within the vertical is preferred.
