Service and Equipment Director

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Service and Equipment Director of Assa Abloy Portugal to drive profitable and sustainable growth (equipment and service) in Portugal, for both Pedestrian doors and Industrial doors activities. The role is based in our Lisbon headquarter

To help drive this growth, we are looking for a strong and engaging leader who will lead by example, walking the talking and empower the teams (approx. 50 persons).The person will act as the key local leader reporting to the Business Unit Manager of Spain (who is also acting as BUM Portugal).

 

His primary focus, will be the operational implementation of the strategic plan 2030 for Portugal, process optimization, and on-the-ground team management in Portugal, ensuring full alignment with guidelines, company values and strategic plan.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Execution: Ensure the successful delivery of the 2030 strategic plan defined for Portugal.
  • Team Leadership: Lead coach and motivate local teams, focusing on growth, productivity, performance, employee engagement and talent retention.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Provide reporting of operational KPIs, ensuring data transparency and performance tracking.
  • Cost Optimization: Monitor and control operational costs in Portugal, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and waste reduction.
  • Compliance & Local Liaison: Ensure that all Portuguese operations comply with local legal standards (including those related to safety, HR…), acting as the operational point of contact for national suppliers and partners.
  • Process Implementation: Locally adapt and implement group-wide best practices
  • Develop a customer-oriented mindset/culture throughout the company
  • Drive sustainable and profitable growth of service and equipment for both Pedestrian doors and Industrial doors activities
  • Ownership of the service and equipment oder intake, sales, execution and contribution margin, being responsible for annual financial plans, forecasting and achievement of agreed sales
  • Put safety as the highest priority in everything we do

Qualification

 

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to quickly adapt.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships on all levels and in a variety of cultures.
  • Experience in the Entrance Automation market (pedestrian doors, gate automation, overhead doors, high speed doors, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and creative problem solving abilities, business planning, influence management, and a hands-on approach to business.
  • Ability to motivate individuals to exceed expectations in terms of corporate plans and in contributing to the overall profitability of the business.
  • Experience in working internationally or exposure to working with an internationally-based parent company.
  • Proven computer abilities; Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and understanding of ERP / CRM systems
  • Language : Portugese native or bilingual ; fluent in English
  • Education : bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience : significant previous experience of leading operational and / or sales teams in a B to B environment, with service oriented business models, preferably in similar industries
  • Demonstrated experience in driving growth and delivering results
