Concept Frames, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking to add a General Manager to our Door Group location in Newton, North Carolina, located outside of Charlotte. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the business, including P&L, operational efficiency, customer interface, safety, and regulatory compliance, etc., and will report to the Head of Hollow Metal Southeast Region.

What would you do as our General Manager?

You’ll invest the largest portion of your time in two areas:

  • Leading key business development initiatives, which will involve maintaining high-touch relationships with customers and improving the customer experience.   You will also work in a close relationship with the Door Security Solutions sales group to grow the door and frame business in alignment with Door Group strategy.
  • Ensuring operational excellence, including continuing and building on lean manufacturing processes in alignment with the Door Group best practices.

 

You Would Also:

  • Own and drive the strategy to achieve operational success and create a customer centric atmosphere.
  • Provide thoughtful leadership and strategic vision within the ASSA ABLOY and Door Group strategic framework.
  • Oversee overall operations and P&L, fulfilling our commitment to our business, safety and employee morale.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of production, quality and cost objectives.
  • Implement and drive operational excellence principles throughout the business.
  • Identify strategic investment opportunities presenting a business case for moving forward.
  • Provide labor planning, materials management and people development.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts and business plans to meet financial and business goals.
  • Ensure consistent achievement in production, quality and cost targets while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
  • Build a talented workforce and oversee robust successful retention and succession plans.
  • Lead others by example in a safe and harmonious working environment in addition to ensuring compliance with safe working practices, safety policies and regulations.
  • Protect the organization’s value by maintaining confidentiality of protected and proprietary information.
  • Assure compliance with federal, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
  • Other projects and assignments, as assigned.

 

The Skills and Experience You would Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 7+ Years proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (previous metal forming industry knowledge would be a plus).
  • Previous experience working in a matrixed organization structure.
  • Knowledgeable in interpreting financial statements to optimize operations and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Proven ability to leverage forecasts to make strategic adjustments and ensure business goals are met.
  • Recognition of the importance of customer service with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring teams, willingness to be a physically present leader who is accessible and visible during shifts.
  • Possession of excellent oral, written and listening skills is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire employees, as well as both give feedback and welcome feedback.
  • Competency with MS Office Suite, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong ERP system experience.
