Production Coordinator

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Production Coordinator in our Lawrence, KS location.

 

 

SHIFT:  Sunday through Tuesday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Overtime every other Saturday as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·       Coordinates with Supervisor in assigning work to meet on time production and quality goals. This includes but not limited to staging, trailer availability, staffing, etc.

·       Controls the workflow within the area of responsibility to meet efficiency targets, minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

·       Requires the ability to train people and serve as a coach to Team Members.  Perform On-the-job training and line and production orientation for new hires.

·       Records accurate data on production, labor, team members, and scrap on a timely basis. Follows up with team members on accurate production reporting. Completes shift paperwork.

·       Ensures accuracy of inventory and inventory management.

·       Required to ensure all purchased and manufactured material are available when needed to meet production goals.

·       Works with Maintenance, and Manufacturing personnel to provide information on matters relative to machine downtime.

·       Ensures safety best practices are followed by Team Members at all times.

·       Ensure all quality standard for the production area are being met.

·       Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, and point out areas where improvement is needed, as well as the ability to develop a positive relationship with employees in order to develop credibility.

·       Must be results-oriented and have the ability to motivate others.

·       Required to fill in for Department Supervisor in their absence.

·       Required to obtain and maintain a forklift license.

·       Maintains security of buildings, grounds, equipment, materials, and personnel.

·       Assumes other duties as assigned.

 

THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:

·       Area of responsibility:  Hands-on Line.

·       Leads by example with excellent attendance, influential interpersonal skills and high desire to succeed for the customer.

·       Facilitates on-the-job training for all new and existing team members for job certifications and performance evaluations.

·       Ensures the quality and accuracy of products and timely completion of schedules.            

·       Maintains an efficient workforce in accordance with job requirements, work levels and schedules, manpower requirements and training programs.

·       Ensures the appropriate use of safety devices and equipment, general housekeeping, and maintains a constant vigilance for hazardous conditions and practices. Ensures a clean and safe work area.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·       Extended time on feet.

·       Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination with hand/power tools.

·       Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).

·       Reporting and clerical duties on a computer and/or tablet.      

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

·       Must be capable of communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.

·       Possess efficient and productive organizational, time management and analytical skills.

·       Possess mechanical competence and knowledge and use of safety conscious practices.

·       Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and inventory management.

·       Must obtain a forklift license and certification within 45 days from hire date.

·       Must pass the Qualification forklift exam prior to interview (internal candidates only).
