As Configuration Specialist you are part of the business unit FlexiForce EMEA, part of Sectional Doors & Components (SDC), ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems. FlexiForce offers products and solutions for the residential and industrial overhead door business. The product offering covers single components, hardware sets and automation solutions.
In this position you report to the Manager R&D and you are based in Barneveld Netherlands.
What you will be doing
In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and developing product configuration models that support the FlexiForce EMEA organization in adapting to market changes and maintaining its leadership in supplying doors, hardware sets, subassemblies, and components to the door market.
Furthermore you:
- Build and maintain the configuration model (Tacton) which can be integrated in AAES and FlexiForce EMEA IT systems.
- Maintain and develop tests for the ruling of the configuration models
- Monitor tests, approvals and releases of configurators
- Responsible for version control of the configuration model including keeping the development history documentation up to date
- Ensure the maintainability of the configuration model by changing the configuration structure, thus limiting the workload needed to accommodate change
- Assist product management and R&D when defining ruling and project scopes
- Advise R&D management on external (outside the R&D department) actions to guarantee the availability of the configuration model as well as the connected systems
- Maintain revisions of the module which is used to build/program the configurator
- Represent R&D towards the IT department regarding connectivity and alignment of the configurator model with internal systems as well as external systems
- Provide advice and information to both internal as well as external sources
- Contribute proactive to the improvement of the general functioning of the R&D department
- Initiate and implement configuration improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor level education in the field of Technical, IT or Business Economics or similar complimented with project management skills. Candidates with equivalent education plus relevant work experience may also be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role and experienced in automated systems and programming languages (e.g. java script, visual basic, c sharp)
- Good knowledge of IT systems, operational knowledge of configurations (e.g. Tacton) added with courses and workshops in this field
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office/Excel, high knowledge VBA.
- Experience with technical (hardware) products, production and logistics.
- English is our corporate language so we expect you to have a high professional knowledge of English and be able to speak, read and write freely when interacting with your international colleagues.
