Job brief

We are seeking an operationally focused Senior Financial Accountant to join our HID Global Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful candidate will ensure our financial reporting is effective and aligns with business objectives. This business is poised for rapid global growth, both organically and inorganically. You will therefore also be involved in providing financial support for global acquisitions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Reporting
  • Lead, prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Assist in the preparation of related financial analytics on quarterly basis
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests as required

 

  • Statutory
  • Assist in preparation of Statutory Accounts in accordance with local GAAP
  • Work with external auditors in completion of corporate and statutory audit
  • Processing the necessary adjustments between IFRS and Local GAAP in agreed format

 

  • Taxes
  • Preparation of required data for Tax Advisor, review and approval of Corporation tax and deferred tax asset/liability.
  • Ensure VAT returns are made on a timely basis
  • Presentation of final accounts to Company Directors for approval and signature
  • Assistance in the preparation and filing of statistical returns.
  • Team
  • Supervise and review General Ledger accountants' work
  • Mentor junior accountants to ensure growth and development in line with company values
  • Process & Systems
  • Working with corporate finance team, assist in the review design and implementation of financial processes in compliance with Corporate policies and controls
  • Proactively collaborate across multifunctional teams to create an environment that strives for global consistency of best practices
  • Assist with the integration of acquisitions

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience          

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Recognised professional qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • 4+ years of experience gained in an international company/multi-cultural environment
  • 'Big 4' experience an advantage

 

Language Skills                   

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing

 

Computer Skills     

  • Highly proficient with MS Office applications with good understanding and experience of ERP systems - Oracle an advantage
  • A working understanding of standard BI tools - Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) an advantage

   Work Requirements

  • Compliance to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems

  • Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland
