Human Resources Recruiter/Generalist


The Human Resources Recruiter/Generalist is responsible for both recruiting and general HR reporting to the Director Talent Management and HR Administration. The incumbent will manage full life-cycle recruiting, including, screening, assessing, interviewing, and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods. The HR Generalist portion of the job will have responsibilities in many HR activities based on bandwidth and need.


  • Responsible for recruiting, including corporate office.
  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates, administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers.
  • Suggests and implements creative sourcing of candidates to increase the quantity and quality in the applicant pool.
  • Ensure that we have a best practice hiring and onboarding experience.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, etc.).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations regarding recruitment and general employment/HR compliance.
  • Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Responsible for all separation processing including exit interviews, termination paperwork, and collection of equipment.
  • Experience creating market analysis of salaries and recommended compensation.
  • HR Generalist responsibilities will be assigned based on bandwidth and availability. Some of these duties may include:
    • Facilitates and develops training (including onboarding)
    • Employee relations
    • HRIS
    • Coaches managers on effective HR management
    • Involvement in the performance management and salary review process


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in recruiting.
  • Experience working with HRIS and ATS systems, SuccessFactors preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Comfortable analyzing information and dealing with complexity.
  • Able to handle confidential material in a reliable manner.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential information.
  • Social ease and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety of different people and personality types.
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment, must have ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good understanding of employment law and other HR compliance issues.
  • The position is located in New Haven, CT.
