Trade Compliance Analyst

The Trade Compliance Analyst supports and executes the company’s import trade compliance program, with responsibility for determining product classifications, country of origin, and tariff applicability, and for overseeing entry review, audit support, and regulatory compliance. This role combines hands on compliance execution with analytical oversight to validate import transactions, monitor compliance data, and identify improvement opportunities. The Analyst works closely with Customs Brokers, internal business partners, and Trade Compliance leadership to manage trade programs, post‑entry activity, reporting, and data integrity, supporting a controlled and auditable import environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine, maintain, and validate HTS classifications and Country of Origin using rules of origin, technical drawings, bills of materials, manufacturing processes and supplier documentation to support determinations.
  • Maintain and support tariff and trade remedy programs (e.g., Section 232) and assess applicability of preferential trade programs. 
  • Oversee Customs Broker entry activity, including entry validation, post‑entry reviews (PSC/PEA), Assist declarations, USMCA claims, annual value reconciliation, and corrective actions in support of audit readiness.
  • Maintain import records in accordance with regulatory recordkeeping requirements and support audit readiness through documentation review, data validation, and corrective action tracking
  • Analyze and reconcile ACE reports and other import compliance data to identify trends, recurring errors, or control gaps and recommend process or control improvements.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex or high‑risk classification, origin, regulatory, or systemic compliance issues.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to gather required information and support compliant import and export activity.
  • Follow established trade compliance policies, procedures, tools, and documentation standards.
  • Perform other trade compliance‑related duties, projects, and analyses as needed to support business and regulatory requirements.

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in import trade compliance, customs operations, or trade compliance analysis.
  • Proven experience in HTS, COO determinations, trade remedy programs, and post‑entry activities.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, tariffs, valuation, broker entry processes, and audits.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Familiarity with QAD and/or SAP preferred but not required.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or trade compliance certifications (CCS, CES, CTCS), preferred but not required.

 

 

Pay Range: $76,588-$120,352.

 

This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
