ASSA ABLOY is a world leader in total door opening solutions. ASSA ABLOY’s Commercial Segment is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the team.
We are seeking a results-oriented finance professional to join our dynamic, fast-paced organization! The Financial Analyst will support operational performance, prepare financial budgets, and assist with general accounting procedures. This position will collaborate closely with the finance and accounting functions within the Commercial Segment and provide support to these teams at the business level.
This position sits onsite in New Haven, CT.
What will you be doing
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across finance systems and reporting.
- Contribute to various special projects and financial analyses as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of compelling PowerPoint presentations for executive-level reporting.
- Participate in monthly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare intercompany allocations and billings to ensure financial transparency.
- Support compliance with internal controls policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct trend analysis of monthly actual financial data and quarterly forecasts.
- Collaborate on the research of financial cost variance analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Prepare monthly executive-level financial reports with insights and recommendations.
- Assist in the maintenance of the global chart of accounts, ensuring accuracy between local and corporate reporting.
- Assist in performing internal audit activities as needed to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
- Participate in financial integration activities related to newly acquired businesses as required. Perform and document purchase price allocations.
- Coordinate with internal teams on acquisition-related accounting.
- Support restatement efforts for acquired entities and ensure audit readiness.
- Maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Support ad hoc projects as needed.
What are we looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on technical accounting, financial reporting and M&A.
- Systems experience in Power BI, Business Objects, or Oracle SmartView/Hyperion is mandatory.
- Must have hands-on experience with a ERP system such as, JD Edwards (JDE), SAP, Oracle and NetSuite.
- Demonstrated experience in creating PowerPoint presentations for C-Level Suite.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at a time with a high degree of accuracy.
- Exceptional MS Excel skills which include, conditional formulas, index/match, pivot tables etc.
- Proficiency in working with different systems to retrieve and analyze data.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners.
- Limited travel with a potential of up to 5% if necessary (domestic).
Preferred Skills:
- Progress toward or desire to obtain an MBA preferred.
- Our ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in finance and be motivated to grow with our global organization.
- Exposure to a multi-divisional or multi-plant manufacturing setting preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with GAAP, IFRS preferred.
