While the product line includes standard offerings, a significant portion of business involves tailored adaptations or entirely new designs developed to meet specific customer needs—often on aggressive timelines few can match.
The Director of Securitech will be responsible for driving this innovation-forward mindset, which is essential to the company’s continued revenue growth and profitability. This role leads the Innovation Team, Business Development, and other key functions necessary to deliver rapid, effective solutions with outstanding customer experience.
While maintaining Securitech’s agility and responsiveness, the Director will also leverage the operational and customer service strengths of the Berlin, CT facility. The operations and customer service teams will serve as indirect reports, ensuring alignment with broader ASSA ABLOY standards and practices.

Customer & Market Development:
A rapidly growing portion of the sales will flow through the Door Security Solutions group, to do this the business development team that reports to the Director of Securitech will work hand in hand with the various territories and teams within DSS.
A second portion of the sales stems from close ties with non-traditional accounts like government agencies, national chains, small businesses, and other OEM accounts with unique needs. The Securitech team will continue to develop and maintain these important relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Organic Growth and Profitability of the Securitech Business
- Chief Product Officer of the business. Take insights from customers and leads the innovation team to develop a marketable solution
- Leads the business development team to expand sales both inside and outside of the DSS organization.
- Creates annual strategic plan and target KPI’s for all aspects of the business
- Actively engages / communicates with all levels of the organization; drives efforts to promote employee engagement. Promotes and fosters a culture of collaboration, cooperation and communication.
- Provides guidance for operational and customer service improvements even though these are not directly reporting into this position
- Fosters teamwork across a matrix environment
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering
- Growth Mindset: Proven track record of building teams and scaling businesses
- Entrepreneurial: Hands-on approach with willingness to identify issues, create solutions, and drive them to completion
- Product Expertise: Experience in product management, new product development, and pricing strategies
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technology: Proficiency in MS Office applications and strong PC skills
- Leadership Style: Self-directed, well-organized, with exceptional follow-up skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Operations Knowledge: Understanding of operations, supply chain, and customer service
- Continuous Improvement: Strong record of successful process improvement initiatives
- Systems Experience: ERP experience is a plus
