Director of Operations
Director of Operations – American Locker
Location: Las Vegas, NV. (American Locker)
Summary:
Leads all plant operations to deliver safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery targets. Oversees production, scheduling, maintenance, and facility management to ensure efficient, reliable, and compliant operations. Implements lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize throughput and employee engagement. Partners closely with the Director of Supply Chain to ensure material readiness and with the Director of Engineering to support smooth new product introduction.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Leadership:
Direct daily production, scheduling, maintenance, and shipping/receiving activities Directo meet customer demand and performance goals.
• Continuous Improvement:
Deploy lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, standard work, visual management) to reduce waste, improve flow, and increase productivity.
• Safety & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies. Drive a culture of safety awareness and compliance across the plant.
• Quality & Delivery Performance:
Collaborate with quality teams to maintain product standards and minimize rework. Ensure on-time shipment of all finished goods and track delivery performance metrics.
• Facilities & Equipment:
Oversee facility maintenance, utilities, and production equipment reliability. Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure proper preventive maintenance.
• People Leadership:
Build, mentor, and develop production supervisors, team leads, and maintenance staff. Promote engagement and accountability through clear goals and communication.
• Performance Tracking:
Monitor plant-level KPIs including throughput, labor efficiency, scrap, downtime, and on-time delivery. Report results and lead corrective actions when targets are missed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in production management, scheduling, and maintenance
• Proven record of implementing lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency with ERP systems and production reporting tools
• Experience introducing Lean manufacturing concepts in a factory setting.
