Facility & Machine Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facility & Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation, safety, and functionality of our facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance across building systems. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Position Location: Somerset, PA
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs
- Plan repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician
- Perform routine maintenance on building systems
- Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities both inside and outside in all weather conditions
- Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ability to work overtime and off-hour assignments as needed/assigned
- Ability to work at either North or South facilities
- Other tasks as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers
- Knowledge of general troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Ability to use computer systems for work order processing, email communication and parts ordering
- Ability to interact with fellow employees while remaining polite and courteous
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to operate a fork truck.
- Clean driving record
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Related experience preferred
- On-the-job training offered, willing to train the right candidate. Select candidate must agree to on-going training regimen.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
