HID Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Production team in Shannon, Ireland. This role is essential for maintaining and optimizing production processes, equipment functionality, and production performance.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for equipment in the production area, new product introduction efforts as well as documenting processes and developing detailed work instructions as well as capable to manage MCO/ECO/PIM for production parts in agile systems.
This role will span all processes within the site include digital printing, lamination, die cut, credential provisioning/programming, laser marking, production tooling, and the various equipment necessary for production.
The qualified candidate will report into centralized ME for in-depth support with the various processes as well as local leadership for day-to-day issues.

As our Manufacturing Engineer , you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Troubleshoot product functionality as related to fixture, tooling and/or process related issues.
- Full responsibility for all production equipment on site, contributing to long-term departmental goals, not just daily operations — bringing a strategic lens to engineering decisions.
- Lead production line setup for new product introductions and coordinate with operations to ensure readiness.
- Creates and implements work instructions, process flow charts, and training materials for production teams.
- SME on change management, MCO/ECO/PIM using Agile systems.
- Manages procuring and implementing new capital equipment for capacity or product launches.
- Act as SME supporting DFM, DFMEA, and PFMEA activities for new product introductions to ensure robust process design.
- Coordinate and perform maintenance and calibration procedures for production equipment.
- Collaborate with HID Global teams to determine manufacturing requirements, maintain producibility, and capacity to enable on-time and predictable delivery of material to demand requirements (with Ops).
- Setup production test and functional test in production.
- Identify and analyze manufacturing problems and provide solutions.
- Characterize equipment functionality to improve production/efficiency.
- Responsible for developing and approving manufacturing processes for new product introductions and for sustaining current production.
- Develop strong partnerships with key internal customers and drive productive and positive Supply Chain, Product Development, Operations, and Quality relationships.
- Prepare reports - collecting, analyzing process test and capability data (yields, cycle times, trends, etc.)
- Support Value Analysis/Value Engineering projects and workshops.
- Responsible for production relevant documentation such as work instructions, process flow charts, etc.
- Ability to interact with individuals of all levels, set objectives, drive results, be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Your Experience and Background include:
- 3 - 5 years of work experience in Manufacturing Engineering within Manufacturing/Factory Operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field.
- Excel and Analytical skills/ Strong analytical skills are highly desirable (e.g., Oracle DV, Power BI, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent project management, communication and organizational skills.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple deadlines.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Ability to interact with individuals of all levels, set objectives, drive results, be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with RFID is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Quality processes/tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, …), but not required.
