Manufacturing Engineering Technician - Pemko North

Due to rapid growth and the desire to better service our customers, we have expanded our operations within one of our sister company's Somerset, PA location (Rockwood Manufacturing).  With this expansion, we now have manufacturing capabilities in Memphis, TN; Ventura, CA; and now, southwestern PA.  Our current hiring needs include a fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician who is looking to challenge themselves and expand their career in assisting with this start-up operations, while still having the support of the experienced Rockwood team.

If so, this associate role might be the ideal fit.  In this position, you will use your foundational experience in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to support projects and help our factory achieve optimal results. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production systems optimization projects, improving product quality, and driving efficiency across our operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers in developing, testing and implementing manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Support the setup, calibration, and maintenance of production machinery and tools
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues
  • Create and maintain documentation such as work instructions, process flow diagrams, and equipment manuals
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies
  • Train production staff on new equipment and updated procedures as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, automation, and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of or experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with PLCs, CNC machines, or robotics
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

Working Conditions:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Requires periods of standing, lifting, and working with machinery
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required
