Digital Communications Specialist

We are looking for a dynamic Digital Communications Specialist to help bring our stories to life through compelling, creative content that connects with employees and external audiences alike. In this role, you will support both internal and external communications, with a strong focus on content creation, visual storytelling, and digital engagement.

This position will report to the Communications Manager and be based on-site, full-time at our divisional headquarters in New Haven, CT, with occasional travel (up to 25%).

What you’ll do

Create engaging content with global reach

  • Support the development of creative communication campaigns aligned with business priorities and shared across internal and external channels.
  • Concept, create, and produce digital content including short-form video, photography, graphics, and written content for internal and external channels.
  • Adapt content tone and format to suit different audiences, platforms, and communication goals.
  • Contribute ideas that elevate storytelling across internal communications, employer branding, and corporate channels.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex information into clear, engaging content.

Support internal and external communications

  • Execute internal communication strategies that engage employees across locations.
  • Support internal and external communications initiatives, ensuring consistency with ASSA ABLOY’s brand and messaging.
  • Develop and execute a strategic external content calendar aligned with organizational initiatives.
  • Share and manage content across internal and external platforms (e.g., intranet, digital signage, email, social channels).
  • Analyze internal and external content performance using relevant KPIs.
  • Create concise reports highlighting performance, insights, and opportunities for improvement.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in communications, content creation, digital media, or a related role. Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
  • A content creator mindset with hands-on experience producing video, visual, and written content.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and analytical communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency of social media platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva preferred.
  • Familiarity with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar) a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
