As Vice President of Innovation and Product Management for HID Global’s Biometric Identity Technologies, you’ll lead the strategic vision and technology portfolio that defines the future of biometrics. As our Vice President, Innovation & Product Management, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Leading Product Management & Innovation teams to own long-to-short term portfolio strategy
- Encouraging innovation, proportional risk taking and thinking outside-the-box in order drive new products ideas to ensure the BA is leading the market vs following
- Leading by example; embracing empowerment to foster a culture of innovation
- Guiding, mentoring and thoughtfully managing teams to drive career development
- Enhancing and expanding the organization to align with the growth and direction of the BA
- Instilling a culture of accountability via governed cost/revenue/customer-satisfaction metrics o Drive an outcome-based culture utilizing agile delivery; celebrate fail-fast learn-fast mindset
- Keeping a strong pulse on the biometric landscape and trajectory, traditional and new players such as big tech, to drive a portfolio that balances delivering value today and, in the future,
- Ensuring a market leadership position through a strong pipeline of innovation programs that trigger roadmap and M&A strategies
- Identifying key technology partnerships that accelerate our position within the market
- Leading an innovative team to deliver forward-leaning programs that differentiate HID from commodity players with a heavy emphasis on ethical AI
- Overseeing a portfolio that crosses various segments such as commercial and public while cutting across both hardware and software products
- Serving as the leading voice on biometrics for HID and ASSA ABLOY at conferences / panels / advisory councils / analyst meetings/ key customer/partner engagements
- Effectively joining forums within HID & ASSA ABLOY to share insights and business/portfolio direction
- Identifying and driving synergies across the broader HID & ASSA ABLOY organization to deliver a stronger overarching leadership position.
- Working within the leadership team to shape and develop the BA’s business strategy
- Collaborating and ensuring alignment of corporate teams such as security, privacy and compliance to ensure industry best practice and regulations are core to product
- Owning the portfolio vision & roadmap ensuring product value and deliverables are met
- Driving accountability within the product organization by establishing business cases and metrics aligned with the business goals
- Working closely with engineering to align on activities that ensure profitability such as build-vs-buy-vs-partner, architectural efficiencies, etc. Ensure core competencies are in place where 3 rd parties are leveraged to support shorter-term activities
- Working closely with sales and product marketing to assess outside-in industry/customer insights and determine roadmap relevance
- Enabling portfolio launch success by ensuring relevant teams are ready to support, sell and market products
Your Experience and Background include:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience shaping the biometric industry across public, commercial and preferably consumer segments.
- Have an excellent understanding of authentication technologies, protocols, and their potential uses in multiple environments
- A broader understanding of security and the importance of threat mitigation
- Have an excellent understanding of platform-based solutions in both a cloud and on-premises model
- Strong market and technology understanding of biometric industry with an emphasis on fingerprint and facial recognition technologies
- An intimate understanding of the historic biometric market and its future trajectory to surgically intersect with a relevant and innovative software/hardware/services portfolio
- A rich background in supporting broad software and hardware biometric solutions in both commercial & public segments
- Deep technology experience within optical and silicon based technologies
- Solid experience in transitioning an organization towards software/cloud, services and ARR models
- Experience in supporting products that utilize AI and presentation attack detection techniques.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, as needed. International travel is required; therefore, employee must possess or can acquire a valid passport

The base salary for CA is $280,000 to $320,000.
