Scrum Master
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master with strong BI and Microsoft Fabric exposure to support data engineering and analytics initiatives. You will facilitate Agile delivery across Data Engineering Team, and BI Team solutions while acting as a key connector between business and technical teams.
Additionally, you will serve as a coach and mentor to our team – helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives for BI and data engineering teams.
- Ensure smooth and predictable delivery of Microsoft Fabric–based data engineering and Power BI initiatives.
- Act as the primary bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, and Fabric / Power BI delivery teams.
- Identify, manage, and remove impediments and delivery risks, escalating when required.
- Ensure on-time delivery of analytics, reporting, and data platform solutions.
- Provide clear visibility on sprint progress, risks, issues, and releases to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement within BI and data teams.
- Support backlog refinement by helping translate business requirements into actionable user stories for data and BI work.
- Coordinate releases and deployments across Fabric workloads and Power BI environments.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum principles and practices.
- Proven experience managing multiple Scrum teams with at least 6 members per team.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Scrum frameworks, backlog management, and sprint tracking.
- Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
- SAFe certification and Kanban certification are a plus.
- Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Jira.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps Boards or similar Agile project management tools.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, information systems or equivalent education and relevant work experience.
- 9 - 12 years of total work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in BI Development.
Language Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
