1. Can you tell us about your journey from student to ASSA ABLOY employee?

I’ve always been curious about how things work. During my studies, I discovered that the Master's program in Mechatronics was the perfect fit for combining my interests in software, electronics, and mechanics. At ARKAD 2022, I spoke with ASSA ABLOY and was surprised to learn that the company does far more than just keys and locks. In fact, small teams of engineers work hands-on with advanced embedded technologies and large-scale entrance systems. I then realized this was exactly what I wanted to do. That insightful conversation led to an exciting summer internship in 2023.

2. What did you study, and what is your role today?

I studied Mechanical engineering with a Master’s in Mechatronics. Today, I work as an Embedded Software Developer focusing on the next-generation peripherals for sliding doors. Although my role is primarily software-oriented, I continue to apply my knowledge in mechanics and electronics in my daily work.

3. What would you tell students who are thinking about applying for a position with us?

Go for it! ASSA ABLOY is a large and global company with a wide range of positions, so there is a strong chance you’ll find one that interests you! But also, do not hesitate to promote your own interests in your application, as that is often the best way to land the role you truly wanted, even if you didn’t realize it at first.
