Position Overview:
The Metal Fabrication Technician is responsible for performing various fabrication and assembly tasks related to the production of commercial roll-up door components. Tasks may include cutting, welding, machining, punching, and assembling metal parts.
Key Responsibilities (based on assignment):
- Cut steel tubing, profiles, sheet metal, or channels to specified dimensions.
- Form and bend sheet metal components according to specifications using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Perform MIG welding on structural components such as barrels or guide assemblies.
- Punch holes and slots in metal components using mechanical or hydraulic equipment.
- Assemble metal parts using hand and power tools.
- Inspect fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity.
- Document work performed and report any issues or deviations.
- Able to lift and handle materials weighing over 40 lbs.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication, or machining.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Willingness to learn and adapt to different fabrication tasks. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

El Técnico en Fabricación Metálica es responsable de realizar tareas de fabricación y ensamblaje de componentes metálicos utilizados en puertas enrollables comerciales. Las tareas específicas pueden incluir corte, mecanizado, perforado y ensamblaje de piezas metálicas.
Responsabilidades del Puesto (según asignación):
- Cortar perfiles, laminas de metal, tubos o canales de acero a medida.
- Doblar y formar componentes de lámina metálica según especificaciones utilizando herramientas y equipos adecuados.
- Perforar orificios o ranuras en componentes metálicos.
- Ensamblar componentes metálicos utilizando herramientas manuales y eléctricas.
- Inspeccionar piezas fabricadas para verificar calidad, precisión y cumplimiento de especificaciones.
- Documentar el trabajo realizado y reportar cualquier desviación o problema detectado.
- Capaz de manejar materiales pesados (más de 40 libras) de forma regular.
- Cumplir con los procedimientos de seguridad y mantener el área de trabajo limpia y organizada.
Requisitos del Puesto:
Educación preparatoria completa; se valora formación técnica o vocacional.
Experiencia previa en fabricación metálica, soldadura o mecanizado (mínimo 1 año).
Capacidad para interpretar planos y dibujos técnicos.
Atención al detalle, responsabilidad y compromiso con la seguridad. Habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para trabajar en equipo de manera efectiva.
