Branch Director - SKIDATA Hub Bangalore

In this role, you’ll be leading and scaling our SKIDATA Hub in Bangalore – the centerpiece of SKIDATA’s global software development footprint outside Austria. With a strong focus on software engineering leadership, you will guide a growing team of developers and technology experts in alignment with SKIDATA’s Technology Leadership Team, while also overseeing a smaller shared services team (mainly financial services).

The role reports directly into SKIDATA’s Vice President Technology and will after an onboarding phase also incorporate the Managing Director assignment for our Bangalore entity.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Scale the Hub: You mainly build and expand our software engineering and technology team, delivering reliable, high-quality solutions embedded in SKIDATA’s global access solutions framework.
• Engineering Leadership: You shape technical direction as part of SKIDATA’s Technology Leadership Team, and act as a sparring partner for product and development leaders worldwide. Drive agile, DevOps, and quality practices.
• General Management: You oversee financial planning, compliance, and reporting for the Bangalore entity. You also ensure smooth integration of local support and shared service functions into global workflows.
• Talent & Culture: Attract, develop, and retain top (engineering) talent in India. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key interface to global leadership, bridging between Austria, India, and the wider SKIDATA & ASSA ABLOY network.

What You Bring

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proven leadership experience in software development/engineering, ideally in an international tech environment.
• Strong understanding of agile development, DevOps, and quality assurance.
• General management skills – financial oversight, compliance, and cross-functional leadership.
• Intercultural leadership experience, ideally managing teams across Europe and India.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus, but not a pre-requisite.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to scale an international hub.
