Expanding support for architects with BIM objects

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems has expanded its BIM portfolio to further support the architectural community throughout the specification and design process.

BIM stands for Building Information Modeling and is used by architects or engineers throughout the design, documentation and construction phases of a building project. There is a growing demand for BIM content in both the US and European markets due to its many benefits.

The new BIM objects available via our website include Besam sliding-, swing- and revolving doors and Crawford industrial overhead sectional doors, and provide design information for use with both ArchiCAD and Revit software. The BIM library will continue to grow as more products from our comprehensive portfolio will be added during 2014.

The BIM objects are free of charge and include all features of the actual products such as: standard colors, size variations, different profile systems and panel configurations, and corresponding hardware like locks, handles, etc. The objects retain a high level of detail in order to produce a complete bill of materials and documentation.

“By developing our BIM library, we aim to facilitate the specification and building process when it comes to entrance automation. As a leading entrance automation supplier, we strive to offer the best possible support and to recommend the best products and solutions for any set of client needs,” says Juan Vargues, President of ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems.

The company offers support and advice to architects and contractors throughout the building process, including project budgeting, traffic planning of goods and people flow, project specifications, drawings and solutions design, and compliance with code and regulations.
