The existing doors at Pendennis shipyard were difficult to open due to corrosion, rust and clogged floor tracks. The shipyard needed an entrance solution that was easy to operate and had a maximum width clear opening that would resist the high winds in the area. They wanted to make use of natural light, reduce energy costs and carbon footprint, as well as using their waterfront location to increase its brand recognition. Withstanding winds of over 100 mph The now installed ASSA ABLOY shipyard hangar door is designed to withstand winds of over 100 mph, is easy to operate and its translucent fabric increases natural light into the building, reducing energy costs and enhancing working conditions. The door gives a clear opening to the full width of the dock and has no floor tracks. Enhancing the brand Pendennis placed a logo sized 20 meters x 8 meters on the door fabric to en-hance its brand allowing anyone entering the Falmouth harbor to see it.
