Revolving doors reduce energy loss /global/scaled/1024x447x0x131x1000x435/AAES-COM-case-studies-images-Mondi-Titelbild.jpg The international packaging company Mondi AG required an entrance solution that could cope with heavy pedestrian traffic, without letting too much energy go to waste. A revolving door with integrated air-curtains from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems solved their problem. Mondi's office building in Vienna used to have a 2-leaf sliding door system at their main entrance. Due to high staff and visitor traffic, the door was open for long periods of the day, which resulted in high energy loss and poor working environment in the entrance area. Due to local regulations, entrances are not allowed to extend outside the building, i.e. the entrance needed to be on the inside and integrated into the façade. The solution needed to handle a high number of people and have the possibility to be integrated with the existing access control system. Besam Uniturn revolving door helped solve the problem A ASSA ABLOY UniTurn with air-curtains helped reduce energy consumption, and thereby the cost, significantly and simultaneously improve the control of the stream of visitors.
