When initiating an energy-saving project in Gothenburg, Sweden, energy-efficient automatic revolving doors from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems was chosen. Part of the solution is that ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems has supplied energy-efficient Besam RD3L revolving doors, a high-capacity door opening solution. The door design ensures separation between internal and external environments. In this project, ICA has managed to reduce energy consumption by around 35 percent, compared to a five-year- old ICA store. Besam’s revolving doors are responsible for about a third of this energy reduction. The reduction is equivalent to the annual energy consumption of two medium-sized Swedish households. In addition, the indoor environment has improved, due to a more even indoor climate and a reduction in noise and exhaust fumes from the exterior.
