The Lead Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the proper accounting for revenue and royalty transactions, participating in close and preparing account reconciliations.  Additionally, this role will participate in process improvement and financial system implementation projects as needed.   
 
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
• Prepare and maintain monthly deferred revenue schedules.  
• Prepare Royalty reporting and reconciliations 
• Reviews transactions to ensure compliance with Accounting policies and procedures, as required. 
• Familiar with IFRS - International Financial Reporting Standards 
• Use analytical skills to understand and document the root cause of variances 
• Participate in 2-day month end closing process. 
• Prepare assigned reconciliations in accordance with policy 
• Assists with Reconciliation Review process 
• Assists in preparation of Audit schedules 
• Works with team members to address various accounting issues 
• Participate in acquisition integration into the financial systems 
• Support recurring revenue initiatives and integration into financial systems 
• Performs tasks related to Project Accounting process as assigned 
• Understands the internal legacy computer systems (Oracle, Hyperion Financial Management, and Cubeware); in order to retrieve historical data, including downloads of data into Excel or other applications 
• Prepares other special projects as needed

Education and/or Experience           
• BS in Accounting or related field. 
• MBA or CPA preferred. 
• 8 - 10 years of experience in similar role. 
• Strong ability to interpret and apply sales contract terms. 
• Experience with accounting for the full order-to-cash cycle. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with English as primary language. 
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working with deadlines. 
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills. 
• Relationship builder who prefers a collaborative work environment and is a comfortable communicator   
• Must be organized and open minded in evaluating solutions to problems / 
• Royalty Accounting experience a plus 
• Sales Tax experience a plus 
 
Language Skills                    
• Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing. 
 
Computer Skills      
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills. 
• Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc. 
• Comfortable with advanced ERP system such as Oracle. Experience with Oracle Projects or other Project Accounting software a plus.
