Western Region Business Development Manager, Glass Solutions

Summary Description: 
The Glass Solutions Business Development Manager is responsible for growing the ASSA ABLOY Glass Solutions business in the Western U.S. region achieving sales and profitability targets. The Business Development Manager's job includes driving sales to glass door temperers and select fabricators as well as working with the ASSA ABLOY architectural team to increase the number of specifications written.  
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Work in team setting with regional ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions sales and glass development team to formulate and implement market penetration strategy.  
  • Convert CRL, PRL, and Dorma customers to ASSA ABLOY Glass Solutions through the use of solution based selling. 
  • Become technically proficient in our hardware and leverage our product advantages to gain discretionary work. 
  • Develop target accounts in both one on one and team sales calls. 
  • Provide necessary training and education to the sales team and others 
  • Assist in the specification development process by calling on Architects and educating them on our program, allowing our products to be specified. 
  • Track market intelligence in the glass industry with respect to market development, projects, competitive activity, customer behavior etc. 
  • Develop and maintain relations with key clients 
  • Track and report the development of business plan and strategies.   
  • Travel as required to meet goals.  Minimum 50% travel. 
 
Educational Requirements, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Proven track record of driving results.Self-motivated individual who is able to work across large territory. 
  • Strong technical selling capabilities 
  • 5 years minimum sales, marketing, or related experience in glass industry 
  • Western U.S. residency required 
  • Strong relationships with western region temperers, fabricators and glaziers. 
  • Experience with architectural and specification sales 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) 
  • Ability to influence and work through cross-functional teams without formal authority. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and influence at all levels of an organization 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
