Curries, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking to add a Continuous Improvement Engineer to our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, Iowa. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager.

What would you do as our Continuous Improvement Engineer?
You would lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites, reducing waste and improving production efficiency while fostering a strong safety culture. You would facilitate Kaizen events and apply Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Problem Solving to drive operational excellence and deliver sustainable results.
You would also:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout CURRIES.
- Plan, develop, lead, and review strategies, activities, and audits associated with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify applicable lean tool(s) for each problem being solved to ensure efficient solution identification and the sustainability of improvements.
- Coordinate and facilitate kaizen events and lean tool roll-outs for the improvement of manufacturing operations, systems, and processes.
- Train and educate employees in lean principles, behavior, tools, and techniques.
- Ensure that implemented lean principles and tools are understood and sustained.
- Work with all levels in the organization to assess, prioritize, and implement improvement opportunities to remove waste from processes.
- Contribute to the analysis, design, and improvement of operational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness while prioritizing safety first.
- Maintain good records of all continuous improvement projects, initiatives, events, and activities.
- Conduct routine reviews to update leadership on anticipated and completed continuous improvement plans, actions, and results.
- Contribute to a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment in line with AADG policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
What we are looking for:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is required.
- Ability to lead teams in the process of identifying and implementing complete, sustainable improvement solutions is required.
- Technical and practical knowledge of Lean and lean tools (such as waste identification, 5S, Gemba boards, standard work, process flow, value stream mapping, spaghetti diagrams, line balancing, and TPM) is required.
- Experience facilitating continuous improvement in a high volume, high variability manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with the Shingo model or other behavior-based approach to continuous improvement is preferred.
