ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems provided Marina del Gargano in Italy with a solution perfectly adapted to the specific conditions of the shipyard industry and local demands.

About the customer

Marina del Gargano is located in the Gulf of Manfredonia in Italy. It can accommodate transit and sedentary boats and super yachts up to 60 meters. With its strategic location on the Mediterranean and beautiful surroundings it’s an attraction for tourists and boaters who want to visit the Gargano peninsula, or embark on tours and vacations to for example Croatia and Greece.

Entrance solution challenges

The buildings are located very close to the sea exposing the marina to demanding climate conditions. Building materials are exposed to natural corrosion and the lack of surrounding hills exposes the marina of strong seasonal winds. In addition, large clearance openings were needed.

Delivered entrance solution

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems provided Marina del Gargano with 4 Megadoor S1000 for the storage facility and 3 Megadoor S800 for the workshop. The Megadoor systems are specifically designed to operate in extreme conditions of various kinds, and were therefore the preferred choice of the client.

In addition to the standard supplies, the doors were adapted to meet the specific local conditions, such as wind resistance class up to 0.7KN/meters qubed guard motors, profiles in plastic polymers to cover aluminum parts which are exposed to natural corrosion, and protection cover for the limit-switch boxes.
